THAT Hannah Melnyk be appointed as a voting public member of the Hillier Ward Recreation Committee for the term of Council or until reappointed. Announcements 7.1 Councillor St-Jean announced the Picton BIA's and Department of Illumination's annual Picton Holiday Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 29th at 4:30 PM in the Cenotaph Parkette, and welcomed all to attend. 7.2 Councillor MacNaughton announced the Picton Santa Claus Parade, hosted by the Picton Recreation Committee, to take place on Sunday, November 30th at 1:00 PM on Picton Main Street, and welcomed all to attend. 7.3 Councillor Nieman announced the Bloomfield Santa Claus Parade on Friday, November 28th, starting at 6:30 PM, with Main Street closing at 6:00 PM. 7.4 Councillor Maynard announced the Ameliasburgh Christmas in the Village on December 6th and the annual Consecon Santa Claus Parade on December 7th, starting at 1:00 PM. 7.5 Councillor Maynard provided a notice of motion pertaining to Schedule 3 of Bill 68 amending the Conservation Authorities Act that will dispone the existing structure by taking 36 Conservation Authorities into 7 large regional agencies under ministerial control. 7.6 Mayor Ferguson proclaimed December 3 as International Day of Persons with Disabilities in the County. 7.7 Mayor Ferguson proclaimed the month of December to be “Lung Cancer Awareness Month” in the County. 7.8 Mayor Ferguson proclaimed the 16 Days from November 25 to December 10, 2025 as "Orange Days: Unite to End Violence Against Women and Girls" in the County. 7.9 Mayor Ferguson proclaimed November 25 as “The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women”. 7.10 The Mayor made the following statement and proudly shared that a member of the Shire Hall Community, Ben Thornton has been awarded the Sovereign's Medal for Volunteers through the Governor General's Office. The Mayor noted that formal recognition would be granted to Ben Thornton at a future date and thanked all volunteers for their efforts
