Council reconvened in open session at 7:00 p.m. with all members present save and except Councillor Roberts. Council Motion 2026-196 recessed close session at 6:42 p.m. to resume open session at 7:00 p.m. Reports Arising from Closed Meeting There were none at this time. Announcements 7.1 The Chief Administrative Officer and the family of Chief Howe participated in an installation of epaulettes, formally recognizing Fire Chief Howe’s appointment and elevation in rank. 7.2 Councillor Braney announced a notice of motion to ensure information regarding strategic direction and external relations of the County is shared proactively and in a timely manner. 7.3 Councillor Branderhorst announced the County Foundation contest for children to design a card of thanks to the donors. She also highlighted the Women's Institute bake sale at 9:00 am on May 16, 2026. 7.4 Councillor Hirsch announced a notice of motion regarding the prohibition of the use of engine brakes. 7.5 Councillor Grosso congratulated Aurum local brewery in Ameliasburgh on their grand opening this weekend. 7.6 Councillor MacNaughton announced a notice of motion regarding Bill 100, Better Regional Governance Act, 2026 and its implications. 7.
