May 12, 2026 · Council

THAT the comment from the audience be received. Items for Consideration 11.1 Report of the Community Services, Programs and Initiatives Department dated May 12, 2026 regarding the Prince Edward Fitness and Aquatic Centre (PEFAC) Board Observer The main motion was put on the floor by Councillor St-Jean and seconded by Councillor Pennell. A question and answer period ensued regarding: • the option for a Councillor to be a voting member; • if the observer would be permitted to inform Council of closed session matters; and • the collaboration opportunities for a non-voting member. Mayor Ferguson opened the floor to nominations. Councillor MacNaughton nominated Councillor Hirsch. He accepted the nomination. There were no other nominations.
No recorded vote was requested, so the minutes do not say how each member voted — only the outcome. Moving or seconding a motion is not a vote.

Moved: Councillor Prinzen   Seconded: Councillor Nieman
