THAT staff be directed to promote through public service announcements, social media posts, and other available communications channels a call for nominations for the 2026 Prince Edward County Heritage Awards, and to prepare and receive applications for review by the Built & Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee. Council recessed at 8:30 p.m. and reconvened at 8:40 p.m. with all members present, save and except Councillor Roberts and Councillor Branderhorst. 11.7 Supplemental report of the Finance & I.T Department dated June 9, 2026 regarding Council Remuneration Update This item was referred via MotionCW-83-2026 at the May 14, 2026 Committee of the Whole meeting. Mike D'Amico, Stratford People & Culture Consulting joined the meeting virtually. Council briefly recessed due to technical issues with the sound. The main motion was put on the floor by Councillor St-Jean and seconded by Councillor MacNaughton. A question and answer period ensued regarding: • the different options for comparators; • whether a member of Council is a full-time or part-time role; • if there is an aggregate for the overall cost of the two-tiered government system; • exploring salaries following the question on the ballot; • the merits of option 2 and impact on tax levy; • the complexity and time commitment of the role; • the messages of decisions; • the potential of deferring this matter to the 2027 budget deliberations; and • the scrutiny from different modes of media. The Mayor sought a member to put forward an option. Councillor Nieman noted his intent to bring forward a motion with option 4.
No recorded vote was requested, so the minutes do not say how each member voted — only the outcome. Moving or seconding a motion is not a vote.
