THAT report FIN-22-2026 regarding the Asset Management Plan Legislative Update be received. 11.2 Report of the Finance and Information Technology Department dated July 21, 2026 regarding the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance Update The main motion was put on the floor by Councillor Branderhorst and seconded by Councillor Roberts. A question and answer period ensued regarding: • the potential inaccuracies with AI and mitigating security threats; • request to think about the bigger picture and staggering expenditures not keeping with the pace and profit; • the impact of AI data centres; • the potential political bias of AI; • the environmental and social implications; and; • ensuring AI enhances decisions rather than making decisions.
