THAT Council move into closed session to consider: • labour relations or employee negotiations (employment contract negotiations) • personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees (employment contract negotiations) Pursuant to Section 239 (2) (d) and (b) of the Municipal Act. Council reconvened in open session at 7:01 p.m. with all members present save and except Councillor Harrison, Councillor Roberts and Councillor MacNaughton. Motion 2026-54 was a motion to receive a confidential report and to provide direction to staff on negotiation targets. Motion 2026-55 was a motion to receive a verbal update and to provide direction to staff on negotiation strategy with volunteer firefighter memorandum negotiations. Motion 2026-56 was the motion to return to open session. Reports Arising from Closed Meeting There were none. Announcements 7.1 Councillor Grosso announced Walts Sugar Shack on Salem Road has Family Day events. 7.2 Councillor Pennell announced that Salem Road is level due to the weather. 7.3 Mayor Ferguson announced several Family Day weekend activities throughout the County, and encouraged all to attend. 7.4 Mayor Ferguson proclaimed February 11th as 2-1-1 Day in Prince Edward County, February 16 - 22, 2026, as Ontario Heritage Week and Flashback February, as well as February 10, as 'Canada's Agriculture Day' to celebrate the hardworking people who bring us the food we love and the essential contributions of agriculture to our nation's prosperity and well-being.
