THAT report CSP-22-2025 regarding the Child Care Task Team Recommendations and Action Plan be received; THAT Council endorse the Child Care Action Plan, available as Attachment 1 to this report, as a roadmap for community collaboration, advocacy and municipal actions over the next one to three years; THAT Council dissolve the Child Care Task Team and send a letter of appreciation to members; THAT The Mayor and Council actively advocate for a 30% increase in the local allocation of Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) spaces through a range of approaches, including collaboration with the local Member of Parliament and Member of Provincial Parliament, coordinated delegations, and a letter to the Ministry of Education, to secure increased and sustainable funding for child care until the allocation of additional licensed spaces is confirmed; and THAT Council approve the carry-over of $10,000 in unspent funds from the Community Services, Programs & Initiatives department 2025 Budget and include $40,000 in the proposed 2026 Community Services, Programs & Initiatives Operating Budget to support child care pilot program activities outlined in the Action Plan, in the event that external funding is not secured. 6.3 Report of the Corporate and Legislative Services Department dated October 23, 2025 regarding the Taxi By-Law Update
