THAT the presentation by Kathy MacMillan, Professional Services Manager and Melissa Dick, Management Consultant, Esri Canada Inc. regarding Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Current State Assessment be received. Comments From The Audience (On Items On The Agenda) There were none. Items for Consideration 7.1 Report of the Development Services Department dated February 26, 2026 regarding Geographic Information System (GIS) Current State Analysis Discussion ensued regarding: • the application of GIS systems across departments; • the status of water/wastewater infrastructure mapping, and how potentially more than 90% is currently captured; • the cost of the consultants, and that they were engaged to assist with a number of projects; • integrating local GIS data to search engines such as Google, and the use of an open data portal to mitigate any errors; • the addition of historical spatial information related to asset management; and • the distinction between data that is available to the public versus protected for privacy or security reasons.
