Items for Consideration 6.1 Report of the Corporate and Legislative Services Department dated March 26, 2026 regarding Corporate Strategic Plan - 2026 Progress Report The main motion was put on the floor by Councillor Prinze and Councillor Branderhorst. A question and answer period ensued regarding: • the update of the narrative on Leeward House; • tracking the number of severances on rural lands, and an explanation on the purpose of the key performance indicator (KPI), and how noting how much rural land has been lost is important to track t he impact on the farming community; • breakdown between RU Zones and prime agricultural land severances, inclusive of soil composition; • the policy on surplus farm dwellings; • the importance of seeing the year over year improvement measures; • expanding the tree planting KPI's; • the difference between what is a KPI and what is a roadmap for the department; • how tracking 5 and 6 may be premature for the KPI strategic plan; • how KPI's are supposed to be a benchmark every year; and • the equity pieces of the strategic plan. Councillor Branderhorst brought forward a referral motion.
